After the copy of the MBR and of the hidden partition, I deleted the third partition on the new disk and replaced with one using all the remaining unpartitioned space. Then again using Acronis cloned this older drive onto the new drive that failed windows setup originally. I was able to recover my neighbor's laptop. You can use a set of discs that were made from your PC or a set that was ordered from HP. Do I need to clone the old HDD using an Acronis program or something?
